Madhya Pradesh is also known as Hindustan ka dil, and aptly so. This vast sprawling state near the center of our country is as diverse as possible. And the capital city Bhopal happens to be a feast to the eyes, with its natural beauty, culture and hospitality. What makes it even more interesting is that there are quite a few beautiful and interesting places where you can go from here, by road. And who doesn’t love a road trip! Much like its name, the city too has evolved - from a small settlement in ancient times to the seat of power of Nawabs and Begums to a bustling, modern day capital city. There’s much to explore within the city with its towering mosques, old havelis and crowded bazaars. There’s also plenty to see around the city from ancient caves to old Buddhist monasteries. The city of Bhopal is broadly divided into two areas with their own characteristics. The South is the modern city of Bhopal filled with swanky residences, shopping complexes and hotels. But it is in the old city of Bhopal which is located in the north that you can really see and admire the city’s history and heritage.
Bistar is centrally located in a quiet by lane of the posh neighbourhood of Bhopal with killer lake view from each room and cafe of our hostel. Our hostel is the best vantage point to experience the city of lakes and is located near most tourist attractions of the city. Boat rides on any of the lakes is a pleasant affair but be sure to do it only in the evening. We provide an excellent base to explore ‘the city of lakes’ with backpackers from all over the world. Bhopal is home to many theatre and film festivals with a walking distance from Bharat Bhavan - A Cultural Centre.
